Firstly, this is adorable! secondly, I absolutely love it! Depending on the size of your tank, it does hang quite low (which isn't a bad thing). However, if you wanted to change the height, you would be able to. It comes with a hook on the top which holds the 3 twines together, you could easily change this to your desired height. I have used it for one of my shell shops. It is the perfect addition to my tank :)
