  • When will my order be shipped?
    We ship orders between Monday-Friday. Our processing turnaround for orders is between 1-10 business days (MON-FRI) depending how many orders are in the system. We ship orders out in the following order. - Priority Packing - Express Postage - Standard Postage If you require your order asap, please select priority packing or express post.
  • Oops, I forgot to add something to my basket, but I already checked out!
    Thats cool, we got you! Simply add your forgotten items to your cart and checkout again, when selecting shipping, select "ADD TO PREVIOUS UNSHIPPED ORDER". This will bypass your shipping fee and prevent you being charged twice. We will then combine your two orders. This is only doable if your order has not yet been shipped.
  • Do you ship Australia wide or internationally?
    Yes, we ship Australia wide! Unfortunately, we do not currently offer international shipping at this time.
  • My product has arrived broken.
    Oh no! That makes us feel really sad, please reach out to us so we can replace the broken item immediately. If you receive a broken item, you must reach out within 48 hours of receiving your package. Please note - we do not replace the following broken items - Star Fish, Cuttlefish Bone, Sand Dollar or Sea Urchin. These items can still be consumed by your hermit crabs even if they are broken.
  • What is the best way to store the foods I purchased?
    We highly recommend storing our foods in their original packaging, inside a sealed container. This will keep them fresher for longer and prevent a bug infestation or mould.
  • How do I measure my hermit crabs shell?
    Shells are measured by measuring across the widest opening of the shell (long ways). Use a ruler, tape measure or digital caliper and measure the inside of the opening of the shell (do not include the edges of the shell in your measurements)
  • Why can't I find my shipping confirmation or tracking details?
    If you have not received a shipping confirmation email, chances are your order has not yet been shipped. If it has been quite a long time, check your junk folder or others folder in your email. Our emails tend to make their way into the junk folders. If you still can't find anything, please reach out to us via email at thehappyhermie@hotmail.com or via our Facebook page The Happy Hermie.
  • What is the shelf life of your dried foods?
    All of our dried mixes have a shelf life of 18 months. This includes our SOS Mix, Vacation Mix, Crab Pastes, Popcorns and Leaf Litter. We continually make our foods fresh every few weeks to keep up with stock, please add at least a few weeks to your 18-month shelf life to compensate.
  • Why did I receive a food that I did not order?
    ALOT of work goes into our handmade mixes, and sometimes they go out of stock while we are preparing them or awaiting specialist ingredients to arrive from other states. If this is the case, we will substitute the out-of-stock mix for something else of equal nutritional value. If you would prefer us not to substitute a food item, please leave a note at checkout. We do this to ensure that you receive your order as quickly as possible.
